One of the more old-fashioned films, the family-friendly "The Rocketeer" worked as an antidote to the dark, brooding tone of a lot of the superhero films which followed in the wake of Tim Burton's "Batman." Director Joe Johnston (Who later helmed "Captain America: The First Avenger") brought a light touch to this adaptation of a nearly-forgotten classic hero that has earned the film, a box office failure when first released, a well-deserved cult reputation. Plus, a va-va-voom Jennifer Connelly.
